Avg Height: 5’8"-6’ 4"
Avg Weight: 210-310 lb.
Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom
Speed: 6 squares
Vision: Normal
Languages: Common
Culture: Bladelings are fierce warriors who respect power. Many bladelings still roam the battlefields of Chernoggar, but some have managed to escape to find homes elsewhere within the planes.
A bladeling’s body is a living weapon. Although these warriors rely on weapons and armor in battle, they can also unleash the spikes and the blades on their bodies. All bladelings can lose their spikes in a barrage around them, but only a few can shoot the spikes out to great distances.
Long ago, Bane plucked a race of mortals from the world and used it to fashion a new race of soldiers. He bestowed the race with fighting skills and natural weaponry, yet he could not quash the independence that led some Bladelings to rebel against him.

Bugbear (MM)

Avg Height: 6’10"-7’2"
Avg Weight: 250-300 lb.

Languages: Common, Goblin

A bugbear has little tolerance for talk and resorts to conversation only if the advantage of doing so is apparent.
The most common situation is when foes are too strong to challenge openly.
Bugbears often decapitate their foes to honor their greatest hero, Hruggek, who is known to decapitate his enemies.

Avg Weight: 150-240 lb.
Ability Scores: +2 Constitution, +2 Dexterity
Speed: 6 squares (swamp walk)
Vision: Normal
Languages: Common, Primordial
Culture: Nasty and noisome, Bullywugs turn any swamp they inhabit into a dismal echo of the land it once was, so much so that even they view their existence as innately askew. Bullywugs sense this “wrongness” as a heightened paranoia, a feeling that everyone is out to kill them. And it’s true-creatures that attack a bullywug with extreme power or precision find themselves blessed by a moment of clarity and renewed strength, as i f the natural world were thanking them.
Bullywugs say they were created by the original primordials, not by the gods. Their primitive societies are among the pettiest and most mindlessly destructive of all humanoid societies.
By amassing legacies of savagery, the crudest bullywugs imagine that they will one day be reborn as slaads. Bullywug tribes that have exhausted a swamp’s resources have been known to resort to cannibalism; others are cannibals by choice.

Duergar are kin to dwarves, but their long association with infernal powers has given them strange abilities and a thirst for blood. Their devilish nature leads Duergar to prefer volcanic areas of the Underdark.
Long ago, Duergar were members of a great clan of dwarves that delved deep into the Underdark and fell to a mind flayer assault. They endured uncounted years as slaves before fighting their way to freedom. Those Duergar that escaped gained a perverse education from their captivity, becoming as corrupt as their former masters.
Believing that Moradin abandoned them during their enslavement, the Duergar turned instead to the worship of devils. Culture: Orcs worship Gruumsh, the one-eyed god of slaughter, and are savage, bloodthirsty marauders. They plague the civilized races of the world and also fight among themselves for scraps of food and treasure. They love close combat and plunge furiously into the thick of battle, giving no thought to retreat or surrender.
Within what passes for orc society, there are orcs that fill special roles. Eyes of Gruumsh are orcs with a special connection to their fierce god. They offer sacrifices, read omens, and advise the tribe’s chieftain of Gruumsh’s will. Orc bloodragers are tribal champions feared for their strength and ferocity, and they also make excellent subchiefs or bodyguards.
Orcs often fight alongside ogres, and they can be coerced or bullied into serving any dark overlord or wicked monster powerful enough to command their obedience.
Orcs favor hills and mountains, places pocked by caverns easily turned into defensible lairs. Bloodthirsty marauders and cannibals, orcs venerate Gruumsh and thereby delight in slaughter and destruction.
Orcs don’t build settlements of their own, instead improving existing shelters with crude fortifications. They prefer to settle in natural caves or structures abandoned by other, more skillful races. Orcs can manage simple ironwork and stonework, but they are lazy and grasping, preferring to take by force the tools, weapons, and goods other folk make.
Orcs band together into loose tribal associations. The strongest individual in a tribe leads as a despotic chieftain.
Individual bands within a tribe might wander far from their native lands, but they still recognize orcs from the same tribe as kin.
Orcs often demonstrate their faith in Gruumsh by gouging out one of their eyes and offering it as a sacrifice to their one-eyed god.
According to myth, Corellon shot out Gruumsh’s eye with an arrow. For this reason, orcs hold a special hatred for elves and Eladrin.
